Engineering the World’s Tallest Building: Burj Dubai

The Burj Dubai is set to be the world’s tallest building, upon scheduled completion in 2009.

William F. Baker, MO A ’75, developed the structural system for the Burj Dubai. He recently spoke at Lehigh University about the design and construction of the skyscraper located in the United Arab Emirates.

Baker was speaking as part of the Fazlur Rahman Khan Lecture Series. He is the 2008 Fazlur Rahman Khan Medal Award recipient. Learn more about Dr. Fazlur Rahman Khan, IL A ’50.
