Raytheon Chairman and CEO, William H. Swanson, CA M ’72, made the keynote address at the official launch of the Bernard M. Gordon-MIT Engineering Leadership Program.
The Leadership Program is an undergraduate program focused on building tomorrow’s engineering leaders. The program will educate and develop MIT students through project-based learning, interaction with industry leaders, and authentic leadership challenges and exercises. The program was launched thanks to a generous gift by the Gordon Foundation.

Thanks to National Science Foundation funding, Northeastern University has started a program to encourage local students to pursue degrees in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.
The Investing in Tomorrow’s Engineering Leaders (ITEL) program will help high school and community college students interested in earning degrees in the STEM fields.
