As the Obama administration continues to push a campaign “to train 100,000 scientists and engineers during his presidency,” there are questions about if there will be enough jobs available.
Former top science adviser to President George W. Bush, John Marburger (NY O ’62), does not believe “that Americans should fret over shortages overall (of scientists or engineers).”

Current science adviser to President Obama, John Holdren (MA B ’65), is “optimistic that jobs for them will materialize.” He remains convinced that the USA needs more scientists and engineers.
