Tau Bates Making News, October 2009, Part III

University of Toledo professor, Dr. Steven LeBlanc (OH Z ’76), has been elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers(AIChE).

Dr. LeBlanc is Chief Advisor of the Ohio Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Dean of the Toledo College of Engineering, Dr. Nagi G. Naganathan (OH Z ’78), had this to say about Dr. LeBlanc’s election:

“In addition to his on-campus contributions as a member of our faculty, Dr. LeBlanc has made lasting contributions in mentoring and guiding people of all ages in the STEM fields…”

LeBlanc will be recognized at the AIChE conference this year in Nashville, TN, in November. Read news release

Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays selected Jeffrey L. Cinadr, OH Z 2009, in this year’s amateur draft.

Cinadr graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in bioengineering with plans to attend medical school. This past season Cinadr pitched in 12 games for Rays affiliates in the minors. Read Cinadr’s bio
