A new type of solar panel will be installed on a California plastics factory.

Sacramento’s Plastics Package Inc. will host the largest installation on the West Coast of the new technology built by Solyndra Inc. The new technology “uses racks of solar cells the shape of long fluorescent light tubes to allow panels to harvest sunlight from any angle.”

The owners of Plastic Package expect the solar system to pay for itself in roughly six years, with subsequent generated power being “virtually free.” Read article

The first article, interviews an engineering director that says his company is currently hiring and predicts things to continue “picking up” as oil prices go up.

The second article focuses on opportunities with Saudi Aramco recruiting engineers to work abroad.

It continues that Aramco is experiencing growth and looking to hire experienced engineers across the profession for “its project engineering area.”
