GM has been making several leadership changes recently. Former vehicle line director and chief engineer for Global Small Cars, Denise C. Johnson (MI A ’89), has been named vice president, Labor Relations.

Four years removed from earning his Ph.D. in bioengineering, Kevin Janes (MD A ’99) and his research are in high demand.

His work on “how cells make decisions, for good or ill” has landed him several accolades and more importantly, funding.

In the spring he was named a Pew Scholar, in September he was awarded the New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health, and most recently he earned a Packard Fellowship.
