Dr. John Wade, MA B ’82, has been named as the new Associate Dean of Research at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Most recently, Dr. Wade was executive vice president of engineering at International Game Technology.

Clemson University announced a milestone this week, as it will graduate the first doctoral degree in automotive engineering from the university.

The automotive-engineering program began in 2006 with the launch of the International Center for Automotive Research. So far, the program has graduated nine master’s degree students and now its first Ph.D. student. Read news release

A team of students from the University of Colorado Denver won this year’s grand prize at the Fall 2009 Engineering Student Design Open House for their “remediation plan for the Summitville mine.”

The yearly competition “forces students to put to work all they learned to engineer a community-enrichment project,” said N.Y. Chang, interim dean for the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Read article
