AIChE has announced its 2009 Institute and Board of Directors’ Awards. The award winners were honored in November at the AIChE Annual Meeting. Read press release
Three of the winners are Tau Bates:
Dr. Jeffrey J. Siirola, UT A ’67, received the Lawrence B. Evans Award in Chemical Engineering Practice for lifetime achievement at Eastman Chemical Company.
Dr. James A. Dumesic, WI A ’71, received the William H. Walker Award for Excellence in Contributions to Chemical Engineering Literature and is a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr. Lorenz T. Biegler, IL B ’78, was one of three recipients of the Warren K. Lewis Award for Chemical Engineering Education and is a professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Yesterday, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced its Outstanding Graduates for the fall 2009 graduating class.
One of the eight to be recognized was Lauren Delcambre, LA D 2009. Delacambre was cited for her exceptional academic record, her membership in Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu, and her involvement as team leader of the university’s Sand Sensor Design Team.
She also recently completed her Fundamentals of Engineering Exam to become a registered professional engineer (P.E.). Read news story
