The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has named its president elect. Robert T. Simmons, P.E., will become the Society’s 129th president in 2010.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Moorestown (NJ), recently announced that it was awarding scholarships to two Rowan University engineering students.
One of the students is Allison Daniello, NJ E 2010.
Daniello has done research for two summers on “methods of improving motorcycle safety” and plans on attending Virginia Tech for graduate school. Read more

A robot named RUTH (Robotized Unit for Tactility and Haptics) is coming to the United States in 2010.
The Ford Motor Company robot “enables engineers to refine various touch points around the vehicle’s interior to objectively meet a wide range of subjective customer preferences.”
