Last week, The White House announced President Barrack Obama’s appointments to the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.

Two of the seven appointed to the Advisory Board are engineers, and Dr. Paul G. Kaminski (MA B ’66) is a Tau Bate.

The Missouri University of Science and Technology has announced the induction of seven scientists into the Missouri S&T Academy of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

James R. Knox, MO B ’63, professor emeritus at the University of Connecticut

Dr. Glenn E. Stoner, MO B ’62, professor emeritus at the University of Virginia

A recent article, “Engineers, Scientific and Social,” in the American Thinker offers a copy of an original speech given by Admiral Ben Moreell (MO G ’13) on January 14, 1953, at the annual meeting of the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Admiral Moreell was the founder and leader of the Seabees, “the U.S. Navy component that built the docks, the airports, and just about everything else our military forces needed to fight and win World War II.” At the time of the speech he was also the chairman of Jones & Jones Steel Corp.
