Elaine Huffman, VA B 2010, a senior engineering student at Virginia Tech University, was highlighted recently for one of her undergraduate research projects.

Elaine and her professor, Cris Moen, analyzed and tested a historic metal truss bridge “to test whether the Ironto wayside foot bridge, built in the 1870s, could still support some vehicle traffic.”

The article highlights Elaine’s undergraduate experience including work in Spain and at the University of Notre Dame, on a National Science Foundation project.

Architectural engineering and construction management graduate, Emily Knowlen (WI D 2009), of the Milwaukee School of Engineering was highlighted in her hometown newspaper for her achievements.

She was chosen as the class respondent for the Fall Commencement, received the MSOE Alumni Association Award for Student Achievement, and was nominated for “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Read more

She recently began working for The Matrix Group Engineering Consultants, in Milwaukee, as a design engineer.
