The University of Colorado at Boulder’s engineering college recently received an Honorable Mention for the 2010 Andrew Heiskell Award in the “Internationalizing the Campus” category.
According to the news report, CU-Boulder is “initiating new international exchanges, dual programs, and research partnerships with international universities,” as part of a flagship 2030 strategic plan.
The award is designated by the International Institute of Education, which highlighted several initiatives deserving of recognition for the award.

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and its president Dr. William Destler, MD B ’68, announced the selection of a firm to design a new facility to house the chemical engineering and biomedical engineering departments of RIT.
The building will be named Institute Hall and will also “expand research labs and facilities for the university’s partnership with Rochester General Health System (RGH).”
Dr. Destler said, “the building will become a multi-use facility that will support new programs in engineeering, expand research agendas, and programs affiliated with the RGH partnership.”

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has received funding, mainly from the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation, to support research in UTSA’s College of Sciences and College of Engineering.
The funding is designated as “stimulus funding for scientific research and university recruitment.”
