A group of students from the University of Illinois, along with Dave Wortman, recently visited Cameroon to help plan a gravity-flow water system for the village of Ntisaw.
The group was volunteering with Engineers Without Borders. The group included engineering student Kenny Long, IL A 2010.

The Las Vegas Sun recently published a Q&A with former engineer, turned luxury broker, Ken Lowman, OR A ’88.

Lowman graduated with an electrical engineering degree and worked as an engineer with Frito Lay before becoming a real estate broker.
He moved to Las Vegas, NV, in 1995 and is now Owner of Luxury Homes of Las Vegas. Lowman gives his account of the home market and its recent fluctuation in the article.

NASA has come to a decision on the future of “the one-time Mars rover, Spirit.”
Spirit landed on Mars in 2004, with its twin robot, and has allowed engineers and scientists at NASA to learn invaluable information about Mars and the solar system.
In April 2009, Spirit “became mired in soft soil” and the decision has been made to stop extraction efforts. Instead, the rover will now be used as “a stationary platform for experiments.” Read more from The Times-Tribune (PA)
