Dr. Arden L. Bement Jr., CO A ’54, has been named as the director of Purdue University’s new Global Policy Research Institute.

Dr. Bement has been serving as the director of the National Science Foundation since President George W. Bush appointed him in 2004.

He will start as director of the new Institute, June 1, 2010. Read press release

Norwalk Hospital (CT) has announced the appointment of Dr. James M. McClane, NC G ’91, as Chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

In addition to his work as a surgeon, Dr. McClane “has been a frequent speaker at the United Ostomy Foundation, Norwalk Hospital health programs, and as a fund raiser for autism research.” Read full press release
