Making News: Chapter-Related, February 2010

Today, Kentucky Gamma is officially the 235th active collegiate chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

The installation at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, took place with Vice President Solange Dao as official installing officer.

This month, William P. Clements, Jr., TX I ’39, made a pledge to support the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

Mr. Clements is a former governor of Texas and founder of Sedco. “He was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Defense from 1973 through 1977 and is credited with helping modernize America’s armed forces.”

The University of California, Santa Barbara has announced a recent gift that “will increase the endowment for the Richard A. Auhll Professor and Dean of Engineering.

According to the news release, “the gift will also allow the college to support innovative educational programs and pioneering areas of research.”
