This past weekend in Houston, Texas, Shell hosted the Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2010 challenge.
College and high school students from around the world came together “to build and test energy efficient vehicles.”

This year’s winners were: Grand Prize, Laval University; Fuel Cell/Hydrogen, Cicero North Syracuse High School (NY); and Solar Power & People’s Choice Award, Purdue University.

University of Wisconsin-Platteville associate professor Dr. Christina Curras, CA L ’95, has been named one of 16 winners of the 2010 Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award from the University of Wisconsin System.
Cited for her ability to “demonstrate how to lead through action,” Dr. Curras is active in STEM education, on the UW-Platteville Faculty Senate, and as a teacher and advisor. Read more

In a recent survey, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) identified the top-paid bachelor degrees for 2010.
The top three, highest paid graduates majored in: Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mining & Mineral Engineering.
