Earlier this week, the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation announced the 2010 Truman Scholars.
This year 60 students were chosen from more than 500 candidates. The scholarships are awarded to “college students to attend graduate school in preparation for careers in government or elsewhere in public service.”
Two of the 2010 Truman Scholars are Tau Beta Pi and one is eligible for membership:
Varum Sivaram, CA G 2011, is double majoring in engineering physics and international relations and plans to “pursue an honors thesis in the security implications of renewable energy.”
Dylan Gates Rebois, eligible for election at CA G, a mechanical engineering major who “works to encourage the development of scientific perspectives in public policymaking.”
Jared Andrew Crawford, WV A 2011, is a computer and electrical engineering major and has worked to establish a “project to provide clean drinking water to a Nicaraguan community.”
