An invitation to join the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) was recently extended to Georgia Tech President Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson, KS G ’75.
Dr. Peterson accepted the invitation on behalf of the Institute on the same day. According to the news release, Tech is the first new AAU member in nine years.
The AAU “was founded in 1900, is currently based in Washington, D.C., and develops and promotes national and institutional policies that support research and scholarship, graduate and professional education, undergraduate education and public service in research universities.”

Marquette University has announced the appointment of Dr. Robert H. Bishop, P.E. (TX D ’79), as the new Opus Dean of Marquette’s College of Engineering.
Most recently, Dr. Bishop was the Joe J. King Professor of Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Texas at Austin.
