The Wichita Eagle reports that Hawker Beechcraft is in the process of hiring engineers for aircraft manufacturing positions.
According to the article, “Beechcraft plans to add more than 100 engineers by the end of the year.”
Beechcraft CEO Bill Boisture has a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the U.S. Air Force Academy and his father W.W. Boisture, VA B 1940, was a Tau Beta Pi member.

This past weekend Clarkson University hosted their 117th Commencement. Carl B. Mack, executive director of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) received an honorary doctor of science degree and spoke to the graduating students and those in attendance.
In his speech Mack noted that “All of the men and women in this great nation who have achieved that greatness had this one ingredient: opportunity.” Jamiyo Mack, FL H ’95, is a chemical engineer and wife to Carl. Read the news release

The Frederick County Department of Public Works has announced that Director Al Hudak, PA Q ’73, is retiring effective May 31.
Hudak has been an employee with the County for 30 years. He has run the Public Works Department since 2000.
Hudak says that he is most proud of the work done on the county’s bridges during his tenure. “Our bridges are in the best shape they’ve ever been in,” said Hudak.
