Cavallaro, GA A ’85, has built a wind-powered vehicle that has traveled approximately “2.86 times faster than the wind during one recent run.” Soon the vehicle will make a certified run for the North American Land Sailing Association.

This is not Cavallaro’s first innovative work, he holds 20 patents related to the “area of computer enhancement of live sporting events.” He is currently chief scientist at Sportsvision, Inc. (CA).

City Engineer Ron Urton, P.E., (MO B ’88) of Chillicothe, MO, recently inspected the historic Leeper Hotel to determine necessary safety precautions.

To inspect the historic hotel, built in 1884, Urton was raised in the fire department’s aerial truck above the four-story building. Urton was able to determine that “the roof had holes and that the wall is bowing.”
