The Kavli Foundation announced the 2010 Kavli Prize winners in astrophysics, nanoscience, and neuroscience.
Eight scientists were selected as Laureates. Dr. Jerry E. Nelson, CA B ’65, was chosen for astrophysics. Dr. Nelson is a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

A press release on Market Watch announced that two employees from Bally Technologies, Inc., have been recognized as 2009 Great Women of Gaming with “Proven Leader” and “Rising Star” awards.
One of the winners, Tina Kilmer, P.E., (IL A ’81) is a Tau Beta Pi member. She is currently Vice President of Product Compliance for Bally Technologies. The awards were given “by a panel of independent judges from across the gaming industry.”
