Tau Beta Pi regretfully announces the passing of Linda R. Stuffle, P.E., Michigan Beta 1971.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dr. Gene Stuffle, ID B ’66, and their son Rob. Linda and Gene were instrumental in the establishment of the 234th collegiate chapter of Tau Beta Pi at Idaho State University.

The Stuffles traveled to Lubbock, TX, for the 2003 Convention to represent the Idaho Beta Chapter. Tau Beta Pi extends their condolences and appreciation of Linda Stuffle.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has announced the appointment of Karen Ohland, PA K ’83, as the new vice president of Financial Operations for the Knowledge and Community Sector of ASME.
Ohland assumed her position June 9. She also works full-time as a financial administrator for Education and Concerts & Lectures at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NJ). She has been a member of ASME for 25 years. Read more here

Founder and principal of Nuovations, Grant Erickson (MN A ’96), has been featured lately in several publications as a young innovator.

Mr. Erickson was formerly a senior engineer and project manager at Apple, Inc., before founding Nuovations. He was profiled in Autumn 2009 by Eta Kappa Nu and recently featured by his alma mater at University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
Here is a brief excerpt from his advice to engineering graduates: “It is important that you excel in the classroom, it is equally important to achieve and excel outside it. Network. Get involved in your local HKN, IEEE, or TBP organizations. In short, get involved and you will marvel at the doors that open before you.”
