An article from the Ames Tribune, details the work of Iowa State University in securing federal science research funding from the NSF.

ISU received word that their initial bid in 2009 was good enough to win preliminary approval, but that the proposal must be “beefed up” and resubmitted by the first week of October.

Other applicants on the grant include University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa. If the funds are secured, the money will help get “more Iowa students involved in STEM disciplines and increase spending and jobs in Iowa’s research economy,” among other things.
