Two prominent leaders in the energy industry recently co-authored a blog entry on The Hill’s Congress Blog.
Ralph Izzo (NY A ’78), chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of PSEG, and David Joos (IA A ’75), chairman of the board and retired president and chief executive officer of CMS Energy, wrote about the transition of U.S. utilities toward cleaner energy.
According to the piece, the benefits of renewable sources of energy such as wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal, “are clear.” The problem lies in “how utilities will get new supplies of clean electricity to customers.”

A team of researchers from the University of California, Riverside are “hoping to find a better way to detect the smallest components of diesel pollution” by taking to the streets in the back of their own tractor-trailer rig.
