This is Scepansky’s second career change, or even her third. She began working with General Electric after graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in mechanical engineering.

She was motivated by a friend, a nurse, to pursue a career in the medical field. Scepansky began in orthopedics after completing her medical degree, but has since become an oncologist working with cancer patients. While an engineering job was not the best fit, she has this to say about her time as an engineer, “My background in engineering taught me to think logically, (and) stick with a problem until it is solved.”

The New York Times is reporting that Mark Papermaster, TX A ’82, is leaving Apple. Papermaster has been the senior vice president of devices hardware engineering at Apple.

Before joining Apple Inc., Papermaster was vice president of IBM’s blade server division. He spent 26 years working for IBM. Read the article here
