The University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Science is partnering with Northrop Grumman to offer a new master’s degree in computer science.
The announcement was made by Grumman this week.

Dr. Carlos Montemagno (OH B ’80), dean of the engineering school at UC, said, “The University of Cincinnati is excited about this opportunity to collaborate with industry to develop a program that provides innovative approaches for our 21st century engineers as they prepare to face real-world challenges.”

A coalition formed in 2004 has created a website dedicated to “encouraging academically prepared girls to enroll in engineering programs.”
The Engineer Your Life website includes “The Engineer’s Pledge” to tell others about the creative aspects, the collaborative nature, and ways engineers make a difference.

A recent article from Prairie Business Magazine profiles North Dakota’s increasing roll in the U.S. oil industry and the University of North Dakota’s new petroleum engineering program.
The program is the first of its kind in the state, which is currently the fourth largest oil producer in the USA. In the upcoming fall semester, up to ten students are expected, but expansion will continue in the form of petroleum courses and petroleum engineering as a minor.
