Newly selected Marc Ingber, Ph.D. (LA B ’72), has been named the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Most recently he was a program director of the Chemical, Biological, Environmental, and Transport Systems Division at the National Science Foundation. Dr. Ingber was on loan from the University of New Mexico, where he was a professor.

The tips are provided by Sara Seager, professor of planetary science and of physics at MIT. They include:

Wright State University assistant professor Dr. Julie Skipper, OH M ’03, and Ph.D. candidate Phani Kidambi, OH M ’06, are working on a bone scanner “that can image a skeleton and measure and identify a specific person’s bone structures.”
Their work could lead to new technology that would be more accurate in identifying people than fingerprints or facial recognition software. Kidambi says, “(the technology) is much more stable and could be integrated into other biometrics.”
