Building On-Campus: Engineering Related

The University of Delaware is to receive a solar power array from Standard Solar. The initial set up “will include more than 2,000 panels to yield an 850-kilowatt solar electric system.”

UD President Patrick Harker (PA D ’81), Ph.D., said, “This project is another example of idea leadership and is in keeping with the Path to Prominence Initiative for the Planet and our ongoing efforts to become The Green University.”

The U.S. Green Building Council has announced a Gold LEED award to University of Louisville’s renovated Duthie Center for Engineering.

The facility is part of UofL’s Speed School of Engineering and was dedicated in 1947. Read the article for the details of the building that qualified it for LEED certification.
