Meredith R. Gibson, IA A 2012, has been selected to speak at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit this week in Washington, D.C.
Meridith is currently a junior chemical engineering major at Iowa State University. She “was chosen to speak because of her involvement in engineering at Iowa State and her participation in the National Math and Science Young Leaders Program last July.”

Lamar University has announced that Dr. Daniel H. Chen, OK G ’81, has received the university’s highest honor of 2010-2011 University Scholar.

Dr. Chen joined the Lamar faculty in 1982 and in that time he has “secured more than $3 million in 32 funded research projects.” Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Jack R. Hopper (TX D ’59), said, “I am absolutely convinced that he (Dr. Chen) is an outstanding researcher/scholar and an indispensable key team player. I am also impressed with his diligence, responsiveness and expertise in the field of chemical engineering.”
