A press release from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University highlights the successful petition to establish a new chapter at Tau Beta Pi’s 2010 annual Convention in October.

Dr. Howard Curtis, P.E. (IN A ’63), professor at Embry-Riddle, and student president Evan Phillips traveled to Pennsylvania to present the petition to the Convention. The new chapter, Florida Iota, will be installed on March 12, 2011.

South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T) profiles the Lyle & Dorothy Feisel Scholarship. The scholarship was established by current Tau Beta Pi President Dr. Larry A Simonson, P.E. (SD A ’69) to recognize Dr. Feisel, IA A ’61, as the former head of the SDSM&T electrical engineering department.

Dr. Feisel was recently named the interim executive director of ASEE and is the dean emeritus of the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at SUNY.

At this year’s 2010 Aggie 100 day, Dr. Mark Holtzapple, TX D ’78, was asked by the top Aggie to attend the award luncheon and introduce him to those in attendance.

Dr. Holtzapple is a professor of chemical engineering and was attributed to “exposing me to the power of engineering” by the top Aggie, Thomas Bieschke. Bieschke is currently chairman and CEO of Caltex Energy. Read the full article
