An article from Scientific American profiles the work of engineering students from Dartmouth “working in Tanzania to help improve sanitation and energy technologies in local villages.”

The Dartmouth Humanitarian Engineering program has spent the last few years working in Tanzania, “only recently (with the help and support of local villagers) have we started to see our version of a rocket stove spread rapidly across the region.”

The focus of this article is on the introduction of a rocket stove and the distribution of the technology.

Earlier this month at Brown University, the Rhode Island Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, 23 new members were inducted and joined Tau Beta Pi the Engineering Honor Society.

Brian Adriance, NY X 2011, is a senior chemical engineering major at Manhattan College. His collegiate accomplishments were recently highlighted in the Bogota Bulletin.

Adriance was inducted in the New York Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Pi this fall at Manhattan, he joined Omega Chi Epsilon, and also received the Epsilon Sigma Pi award, the highest scholastic award that the college bestows on a student.
