Chemical engineer Charles E. Kaufman, OH B ’36, passed away in September of 2010, but his support of engineering and research continues to provide money for scientific exploration in Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Reviews highlights Kaufman’s last gift to “provide money for research in chemistry, biology, and physics through endowed chairs, fellowships, and awards.”

A group from Atlanta (GA), Women in Technology (WIT), have published a book “dedicated to girls who will make up the future generation of women in technology.”

The San Antonio Business Journal reports that the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) has received a financial grant from the Sid W. Richardson Foundation in continuing support of the school’s Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program (TexPREP).

The TexPREP program “aims to prepare more middle and high school students for careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.” Click here for more information
