The Central Ohio Technical College Coshocton Campus advisory board has selected Heather A. Klesch, OH L ’04, as a new member.
Ms. Klesch has most recently been the environmental manager for Clow Water Systems Co. She earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Youngstown State University. Click here for the full announcement

Two mechanical engineering professors from Clarkson University will be working with USA Luge in researching the speed and drag of current sled designs in the hope of improving the aerodynamics of the sled for the United States Luge Team set to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.
Douglas G. Bohl, CT B ’92, Brian Helenbrook, IN G ’91, and their team of Clarkson engineering students will work together on the project. Read the article for more information on how Dr. Bohl got involved in the project and some of the computer models that will be used.

An article from the Longview New-Journal profiles a local lab breaking and bending things in an effort to create polymers and stronger consumer plastics.
The lab is operated by Flint Hills Resources and is located in Longview, TX. In the article, a recent piece of plastic developed at the lab is highlighted for its use in the new 2011 Ford Explorer.
