The California Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of California, San Diego, is hosting “Tau Beta Pi Tech Talks: General Atomics.”
The title of the talk is “Transforming Outer Space into the Laboratory.” The main speaker will be Dr. Brent Blue from General Atomics. An update on the plans for Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to become a clean-energy city. The AP reports that although the project’s goals have seen recent shifts, the government continues to back the Masdar initiative.
The Masdar Institute is playing a lead role in the initiative led by the dean, Marwan K. Khraisheh (WA B ’91).
In the article, Dr. Khraisheh says, “The commitment is not only to the center, but to the entire move towards a knowledge-based economy and a diversification of the economy.”
