Tau Bates: Recognized & Remembered

Tau Beta Pi has learned that Raymond E. Johnson, RI A ’47, passed way in June of 2010.

Johnson was a U.S. Navy officer during War World II, founded the Product Directions advertising agency, and is best known for the “Put a Tiger in Your Tank” advertising campaign for Esso (now ExxonMobil) that he developed. Many consider the slogan one of the all time greats.

Baldwin Chiu (CA U ’98), aka Only Won, has released his second album “The Lyrical Engineer.” He also has two new music videos for the “Lyrical Engineer” and “I Wanna Be An Engineer.” Click here to watch the videos

The Watertown TAB & Press has profiled Worchester Polytechnic Institute’s Paul Moan, MA A 2011, for being named an ESPN Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (Co-SIDA).

Moan is a double major in civil engineering and fire protection, is the starting goalkeeper for the varsity men’s soccer team, and is only the third player in WPI soccer history to garner national Academic All-American recognition. Read the full article
