The Milwaukee School of Engineering has announced that two varsity basketball players have been selected to Capital One Academic All-America teams. Austin Meier, WI D 2011, has been named Capital One Men’s Basketball College Division Academic All-America of the Year. Carol Cayo, WI D 2012, has been named to the Capital One Women’s Basketball College Division Academic All-America Second Team.
Meier is a senior architectural engineering major and is the all-time leader in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) history in scoring, field goals, free throws made, rebounds and steals. Erin E. Anthony, NY U 2011, has repeated as a first team Capital One All-America selection in 2011. She is a senior civil engineering major, president of the New York Upsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, and Battalion Executive Officer within the Corps of Cadets. Her accomplishments off the court are matched by her abilities on the court as the varsity basketball team’s two-year captain at the United States Military Academy.

Anthony is Army’s all-time blocked shots leader, is one of two players in Army history to own at least 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, and is the first Army women’s basketball player to garner Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
