On Campus: Engineers Week 2011

The Massachusetts Delta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Tufts University, hosted a Jeopardy-style quiz competition as part of this week’s activities for Engineers Week 2011. This year’s “series of activities (are) designed to encourage awareness of engineering in society and to foster camaraderie among the university’s various departments in the School of Engineering.”

This weekend will be a busy one at the University of Florida’s College of Engineering. The Florida Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi will be hosting the District 5 Conference and there will be a regional conference, “Expanding Your Horizons North Florida,” that encourages young women to explore science, technology, engineering and math careers.

At the D5 Conference, up to ten chapters will be present to share in this experience. They will have the opportunity to network, socialize, and learn about Tau Beta Pi. Executive Councillor Jason Huggins, FL A ’96, will be on hand and their will be a special presentation by the MindSET Program. To learn more about Expanding Your Horizons event, click here

NASA-Jet Propulsion Laboratory researcher, Peter Kinman (MO B ’76), will be present a “History of Engineering” at California State University, Fresno, as part of Engineers Week 2011.
