Accolades & Award Winners

The Greater Phoenix Area Engineers Week coalition has recognized Dean Paul Johnson, CA L ’83, and ASU student Joy Marsalla, AZ B 2011.

Dr. Johnson was awarded the Outstanding Engineering Educator of the Year and Marsalla received the Outstanding Engineering Student of the Year.

Two Tau Bates recently received accolades from the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), Fort Worth Chapter. Click here for the press release

Josh Logan, P.E. (TX B ’01), was named the TSPE Young Engineer of the Year. Logan currently works at Halff Associates, has been an active volunteer in MATHCOUNTS, and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in civil engineering.

The ASCE Young Engineer of the Year was awarded to Sam Hinojosa, P.E. (TX B ’03). Hinojosa also works at Halff as a project engineer, recently received his master’s from the University of Texas at Arlington, and serves as a leader in his local chapter.

The Department of Materials Science & Engineering at Northwestern University recognized Kelsey Stoerzinger, IL G 2010, with a Hilliard Award for undergraduate research and design.

Ms. Stoerzinger’s research was entitled, “Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) of Gold Nanopyramidal Shells.” To read more about the award and Kelsey’s research, click here
