Earlier this week the University of Utah College of Engineering hosted the Third Annual Meet an Inventor Day. According to the article, the event is organized and staffed by the members of the Utah Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.
Sponsored by the NSF, the goal is to inspire high school students participation in engineering. Demonstrations included a NASA Mars Rover prototype, medical data-imaging software, and much more.
“Many people understand what an inventor is, but not so much the role an engineer plays,” said Ryan Russon, president of UT Alpha. “We want to show them the possible fields that they can explore and pursue.”
