A new solar simulator at the University of Minnesota’s Solar Energy Laboratory was recently profiled by WCSH6 (NBC-MN). Read the news article

Graduate student Katie Krueger, IN D ’08, and other professors at UM worked on the design “that would mimic concentrated sunlight and be able to provide thermal energy to a solar reactor.”

The Navajos of northeastern Arizona are hopeful that a project being done at the University of Arizona’s Institute of the Environment will bring clean water to the nearly 200,000 inhabitants that do not have direct access to clean water.

The answer may be “a solar-powered desalination system.” Read the full article for more information on the development of the prototype
