Texas A&M University and its departments of Physics and Astronomy and Aerospace Engineering will be hosting the 2011 Physics & Engineering Festival Saturday, March 26th.

Computer science students at the University of Notre Dame have developed an application for the Wii gaming device to help stroke patients regain their independence. Read the article and watch a video demonstration
Professor Aaron Striegel, Ph.D. (IA A ’99), teaches the course in which the students developed the application. He says the software has received positive feedback from therapists. “The therapists have been delighted with the work. We’ve been excited to see how the patients interact with it,” said Striegel.

Ann Trippe, GA A 2009, was quoted in the article and discussed the positive effects the week had on the local community. “Over 400 pounds of canned goods were donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank by Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma, and the Society of Women Engineers,” said Trippe, president of the Georgia Alpha Chapter of TBP.
