On Campus & Beyond: March 2011

Recently, sixteen student teams traveled to Ann Arbor, MI, for the Year Three Spring Workshop portion of EcoCar: The NeXt Challenge.

The U.S. News & World Report has announced the 2012 Best Engineering Schools. This year’s rankings closely resemble previous years with MIT, Stanford, and the University of California, Berkeley, placing one through three, respectively.

Last week, Cornell University hosted the fourteenth annual BOOM technology and innovation showcase. At this year’s event, 42 high-tech inventions were on display, produced by more than 100 undergrads and masters students from Cornell.

Robots, 3-D computer programs, and game applications were prominent fixtures. Awards were given by corporate sponsors, underlining the importance of corporate partnerships in student and faculty research.
