Mohammad Qayoumi, Ph.D., has been named the next president of San José State University. Dr. Qayoumi holds engineering degrees from the University of Cincinnati and the American University of Beirut.

An associate professor and postdoctoral researcher from Ohio State University recently published a paper in the Journal of the Optical Society of America regarding “the first stationary lens to create a microscopic 3D image by itself.”
According to the article, the new lens has the potential to reduce the manufacturing costs of producing miniature products.

The Wisconsin Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will be hosting a Pi Mile Run on March 26th to raise money for the World Vision charity.
The event will be the 12th annual Pi Mile Run and proceeds support the building of wells in poverty-stricken countries.
