Innovation: In space, for athletes, & through walls

Commercial space flight into suborbital space is becoming a reality and the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has purchased a ride from two of the leading private space flight companies.

The eGFI website (from ASEE) profiled the Under Armour E39 shirt. The new shirt is “equipped with electronic sensors that monitor heart rate and breathing as well as triaxial accelerometer to gauge swiftness.”

A new unmanned hexacopter has made its debut this week. The remote-controlled copter from TiaLinx “can sense breathing and motion in buildings, travel long distances, and see through concrete walls with radio waves.”
