Bucknell University has announced that Dr. Keith W. Buffinton, MA D ’79, has been named dean of the College of Engineering.

Dr. Buffinton has been serving as interim dean since 2009 and was selected through a national search. He will begin the new position on July 1.

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation has announced the 2011-12 Goldwater Scholarship award winners.

Of the 275 selected, 175 are men and 105 are women, 52 are majoring in engineering, and all are either sophomore or junior undergraduates at a U.S. college or university. Read the press release and see the full list of this year’s winners, including Mark E. Walker (TN A 2012)

The Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2011 will be held April 14-17, in downtown Houston (TX). A total of 71 teams are slated to compete in this year’s event, which challenges teams to produce their smarter transportation vehicle of the future.
