Katie Maass, TX A 2011, is a senior majoring in chemical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Her pursuits and research related to fighting cancer and improving drug delivery have earned her several graduate fellowships.
She has been awarded a Hertz Fellowship, offered a graduate research fellowship from NSF, and is to be named a 2011-12 Tau Beta Pi Fellow. Maass plans to start her post-graduate work at MIT next fall. Read more

North Carlina State University released a press release highlighting Garlik C. Sadovy, NC A 2012, for winning a Udall Scholarship.
Sadovy is an engineering junior at NC State and is currently the president of the North Carolina Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. He was awarded the Udall Scholarship in part due to his research studying “environmental factors contributing to reduced populations of mammals called fishers in northern California and on DNA thin films.”
