This week engineering groups on the campus of Arizona State University hosted a WOW! That’s Engineering Day to offer local elementary and middle school girls an introduction to engineering.

Lawrence C. Novak, SE, SECB, LEED AP, will give a presentation at Georgia Southern University on April 27th. Novak’s visit coincides with Southern’s plans to offer undergraduate degrees in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering in the fall 2011.
Novak, IL A ’85, is director of engineered buildings for the Portland Cement Association and was the senior project engineer responsible for the structural design of the Burj Dubai Tower, the world’s largest free-standing structure. Click here for more information

The Florida Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Florida Atlantic University, recently hosted an engineering merit badge workshop for local Boy Scouts of America.

At the workshop, FAU professors “gave presentations about their expertise and provided a demonstration to the group.” The FL Epsilon chapters is also making plans to host their first MindSET activity session later this month.
