The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has awarded Kenneth W. Bauer, Jr., Ph.D., with the Air Force Analytic Community’s Analysis/Lessons Learned Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dr. Bauer, OH H ’81, is being recognized for “outstanding accomplishments as a teacher and mentor while simultaneously leading ground-breaking research.”

The University of Kentucky College of Engineering recently announced the Tau Beta Pi Awards for 2011. More than 50 professors, graduate students, and undergraduates were recognized from all engineering disciplines of the College.
Fifteen of the winners are Tau Beta Pi members, including: professor Kim Anderson (OH L ’81), professor Dr. Douglass S. Kalika (MA B ’84), graduate student Kassy Lum (KY A ’10), professor Dr. Braden Lusk (MO B ’00), professor Dr. Sue Nokes (OH G ’82), and ten undergraduate members. Click here for the full list

Virginia Tech has received three donations, including a large gift from the estate of Robert “Bobby” Hord.
Hord’s bequest will be used “to create four endowed funds with a professorship and a scholarship in his name” for both the mechanical and chemical engineering departments. For more information on the other gifts, read the article
