The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) hosted their ANTEC conference in Boston this past week and Dr. Musa Kamal, IL A ’58, was awarded the SPE’s highest honor, the International Award.

Dr. Kamal is professor emeritus for life at McGill University. Read the article for more information on Dr. Kamal and his acceptance speech. Also, Dr. Walter L. Bradley, TX A ’65, was awarded the SPE Education Award.

WGN-TV (IL) profiled the work of a research team at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working on new battery technology.

Co-Inventor Dr. Paul Braun summarizes, “In a traditional battery, the electricity cannot move in and out of the battery quickly, so by changing the nano structure we provide pathways for electricity, pathways for ions.” Click here to learn more

HydroHarvest

HydroHarvest was one of the winning teams. The three team members, including Peter Bojo, MA B 2011, were awarded funds to run a pilot project of their rainwater harvesting system in Rwanda.
