The Watertown Daily Times reports on the new Alcoa Fellows program at Clarkson University. As part of the program junior and senior Clarkson students will partner with “north county teachers to provide secondary school students with lessons in science, technology, engineering, and math.”

There were seven students selected as 2011 Alcoa Fellows. Holly Engel, NY Q 2012, was one of the students selected. She is an environmental engineering major at Clarkson. Read the full article

Wayne State University’s College of Engineering has started a video series “Spotlight on Student Orgs.” The first video in the series highlights the Tau Beta Pi tradition of initiates polishing the Bent.

The video was posted on YouTube, and shows Michigan Epsilon initiates at work. There are multiple interviews, including with G. Jordan MacLay (IL Z ’65), Eminent Physicist. Watch the video here

The California Tau Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of California, Irvine, will host a medical school panel on May 25th for undergraduates to get advice on pursuing a career in medicine.
